I work in the IT field specializing in infrastructure related fields. Configuration management, build and release, deployment of applications on Unix (Solaris/IAX) and Windows has been one of my areas of focus. One of the primary configuration management tools I work with is Clearcase from Rantional (now part of IBM). I am actively involved in HW and SW procument, deployment and implementation activities. Another area that I have started working in is application security, including OS and server level risk management and mitigation.

Software configuration management is a rapidly growing field with more and more companies realizing that it is not enough to just dump some product out in the market. The high cost of software development has brought about a radical change in the way software is developed, and both QA and CM play an important part in the new software development process.

I currently work for Verizon Communications after having worked for DCM Technologies for nine years. My designation is Technical Manager - Infrastructure and System Support. I provide Technical Support for applications in terms of hardware acquisition, infrastructure planning and implementation, configuration management, middleware setup and configuration, post production maintenance including system availability and application stability.
